چکیده: In this work a new approach was proposed for implementing Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) in the US. In this method, all of the main stakeholders of the project attend from its beginning. Plans, contracts, and predictions are performed with their presence. Despite the direct effect of this approach on increasing the quality and decreasing the claims, still it is unknown in many developing countries such as Iran. The aim of this study is evaluating the need to use IPD approach in the civil projects of such developing countries by looking at the Iran case. The advantage of this approach is reducing time and cost, as well as improving the quality of the projects, and also decreasing claims during their implementation. This study addresses the importance of understanding and using this new project implementation system through in-depth literature review process. It investigates advantages and disadvantages of the available delivery systems in Iran and examines the effect of using the IPD approach on the reduction of shortcomings of available contracts, and enhances achieving project success. This study changes the view of practitioners of the country’s construction industry on the existing contracts and guarantees the quality of project implementation by the help of this newly born delivery system.
