Abstract: | Design-Build is project delivery approach, in which group cooperates with the project owner under single contract to provide design and construction services. According to Engineering News-Record (ENR) in 2016, the revenue from domestic Design-Build projects has grown 5,8 percent and has increased 76,93 billion. Considering the increasing growth of the Design-Build contracts, solving challenges of stakeholder management in the Design-Build contracts significantly influences project success and reduces duplications and waste of time and cost.Shared profit and loss, public decision making, multilateral contract, and the presence of critical individuals in the early stages of the project can be realized through using Integrated Project Delivery approach. This study aims to assess the use of Integrated Project Delivery approach to reduce stakeholder management challenges in Design-Build contracts. The research methodology used in this study is literature review, and data collected through questionnaire. The statistical population is composed of contractors of Design-Build projects for high-rise building projects in Tehran. According to questionnaire analysis, it was observed that in Tehran’s high-rise projects, there is low level of mutual trust, and in most cases, project stakeholders do not involve in the project at the beginning stages. Consequently, forming team to realize the principles of IPD can significantly reduce such problems. In these groups, training about teamwork culture is necessary, as well as the context for trusting one other and the organization, mutual respect, early entrance of stakeholders, communication and cooperation among members, and collaborative decision-making. |
