Abstract: According to the World Bank report, the economic cost of the public health impact of airpollution in Tehran, both premature deaths and morbidity, was about half a billion dollars peryear. Certainly, the important point in this regard is to identify different sources of this type ofpollution and use emerging technological methods, especially in the field of information andcommunication technology, in order to prevent air pollution and thus help to economic savings. In this study, the structure of a proposed system in the form of a hierarchical architecture andin the context of the edge Internet of Things for monitoring the air quality in Tehran metropolisis described and its components are introduced. This system provides an air quality monitoringand forecasting system with the ability to monitor the air pollution in Tehran online at all hoursand days of the year by the use of wireless sensors connected to the bus transit of the city inorder to consider and apply the necessary measures in the case of necessity and beforeoccurrence of critical situations.
